Aquatic Studies

Chapter member John Thurman has conducted a three year studyof the feeding habits of trout in the Clinch River. Our chapter has also beenconducting an inventory of clinch macroinvertabrates during the past threeyears. TVA and Purdue University Department of Entomology have assisted us. Weare working closely with Purdue to document populations of the mayfly genus Ephemerella and the emergence patterns of each species. We have identified four different Ephemerella species in the Clinch: E.subvaria, E. rotunda, E. invaria, and E. dorothea.
