Volunteers were on hand to teach kids to bait, spin, and fly fish. Equipment was available for loan to children. Other activities included fly tying demonstrations, casting lessons, boat rides, and an aquarium display for the kids to learn about the critters in the river. We also had free hot dogs and had drawings for prizes!
Approximately 60 kids showed up and brought their parents, aunts, uncles, or grandparents with them. The day left a lot of kids with a positive experience on the Clinch River with Trout Unlimited members and volunteers. Thanks to TVA for arranging their generation schedule for us, and TWRA for stocking the river the day before. Also, thanks to HSS RentX for waiving their weekend set-up fee for the tent.
